Dear Future Self

by Jada

Today is a Tuesday (3/8/11). I got up to the plain, boring white wall closet-sized room with the big brown dresser as always. After feeding the cats and grabbing a bite, my mom was prepping for a meeting as I told my sis “Do your best” at KSU for the day. I don’t usually wake up and want peanut butter, but today I really did. Back upstairs I went and logged on for Geometry class and started an English paper. By 2:00, I was already logged on for US History class and Mr. Spontarelli was carefully reminding us about OGTS for next week and how he wouldn’t be in his office all of next week.

I wish you all the best because you live in Texas and life is exactly what you wanted it to be. But cry. Cry for all the people who told you you wouldn’t make it, for those who doubted you and gave up on you . . .
