After much preparation, the first issue of our SMARTSmag is now available! This magazine features the creative works of several students in YSU’s SMARTS program, which encourages and tutors students, instilling the discipline and focus that a career in the arts requires. These students’ work is at times inspiration, humorous, enlightening, sorrowful, and always deeply engaging. We’re very proud to share it with you, and we hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we have.

I am so proud of my students in the FIRST Jenny/SMARTS class. N’Yamekey, Kalista, Kionna, Alura, Jada, & Maya- all of you are imaginative poets and so much fun to have in class.
